5 Ways to De-Stress Before The Big Day

The big day is coming and your mind is probably filled with so many emotions: anticipation, excitement, nervousness, and just a tiny bit of stress. Don’t worry, it’s totally normal to feel stressed before the big day! After all it’s a day that you have been waiting and planning for for such a long time, there’s nothing wrong with wanting everything to go smoothly and perfectly. Today we have rounded up some ways to destress and get ready for the big day.

  • Stay Calm

Whether you are in the beginning stages or later of your wedding planning process, it is important to not rush any of your decisions just because you have a long list of tasks to cross off. Take some time to think and discuss with your partner and see if that is something the both of you agree on - you shouldn’t have to feel the pressure to say yes to everything you are presented to. Light your favorite candle and make some tea, make sure you are in a relaxed state of mind before you make any major decisions. There is nothing wrong with taking a little time to think everything through as it is your wedding after all.

  • Stay Connected

Put all the wedding planning behind you (forget about the seating chart and the floral arrangements for just a minute) and give yourself and your fiance a break. Whether it is in the form of a mini vacation or just a romantic dinner, it is important to take time for yourselves and reconnect with each other. This is also the perfect time to check in with each other and spend some quality time together before the big day.

  • Meditate

With all the wedding planning going on, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. If you have never meditated before, now is the perfect time to start. Take a little time for yourself every morning or at night before you go to bed. Focus on your breathing and leave everything out of your mind for just a few minutes. You’ll be surprised at how much more relaxed you’ll be after.

  • Treat Yourself

There is almost nothing as relaxing as a perfect SPA day. From bubble baths to lavender-scented massages and manicures and pedicures, a SPA day seems almost inevitable if you want to decompress before the big day. Forget all about the stress and treat yourself to a good time. There is never anything wrong with doing something good for yourself, you’ll find that after taking a little break, you’ll have so much more energy to focus on the wedding planning.

  • Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help

It is a lot to take on planning for a big event and if you are doing it by yourself (or just with your fiance), it is totally okay to ask for a little help from others. Don’t be afraid to ask your family or the bridal party to step in and take away some of the stress for you. Let them help you with the place cards or help you with some of the smaller decorations, a wedding is too big of an event to take on all by yourself.
